緣其欺我、故我所誓、錫厥祖之地、彼不能覯止、

必不得見我所誓賜其列祖之地、凡棄我者、皆不得見之、

not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their ancestors. No one who has treated me with contempt will ever see it.

So not even one of them will ever see the land I promised to give to their people of long ago. The person who has not respected me will never see it.

‘凡从埃及上来二十岁以上的人，断不得看见我对亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起誓应许之地，因为他们没有专心跟从我；

这些被数的人中，没有一个是摩西和亚伦祭司先前在西奈旷野所数的以色列人，

并且我在旷野向他们起誓，必不领他们进入我所赐的流奶与蜜之地，就是全地中最美好之地；

‘这邪恶世代的人，一个也不得看见我起誓要赐给你们列祖的美地；惟有耶孚尼的儿子迦勒必得看见，并且我要将他所踏过的地赐给他和他的子孙，因为他专心跟从我。’耶和华也因你们的缘故向我发怒，说：‘你也不得进入那地。那侍候你，嫩的儿子约书亚必得进入那地。你要勉励他，因为他要使以色列承受那地为业。你们的孩子，你们说要成为掳物的，就是今日尚不知善恶的儿女，必进入那地。我要将那地赐给他们，他们必得为业。至于你们，要转回，从红海的路往旷野去。’“你们回答我说：‘我们得罪了耶和华！现在我们愿遵照耶和华—我们神一切所吩咐的上去争战。’于是你们各人带着兵器，以为很容易就能上到山区去。耶和华对我说：‘你对他们说：不要上去，也不要争战，因我不在你们中间，恐怕你们在仇敌面前被击败。’我就告诉了你们，你们却不听从，竟违背耶和华的指示，擅自上到山区去。住在那山区的亚摩利人像蜂群一样出来迎击你们，追赶你们，在西珥击败你们，直到何珥玛。你们就回来，在耶和华面前哭泣；耶和华却不听你们的声音，也不向你们侧耳。

神向谁发怒四十年之久呢？岂不是那些犯罪而陈尸在旷野的人吗？他向谁起誓，不容他们进入他的安息呢？岂不是向那些不信从的人吗？

所以，我在怒中起誓：“他们断不可进入我的安息！”

所以他向他们起誓，必叫他们倒在旷野，

但我们已经信的人进入安息，正如神所说：“我在怒中起誓：他们断不可进入我的安息！”其实造物之工，从创世以来已经完成了。

你使他们的子孙多如天上的星，带他们到你对他们祖先说要进去得为业之地。
