The assembly must protect the one accused of murder from the avenger of blood and send the accused back to the city of refuge to which they fled. The accused must stay there until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the holy oil.

The court must provide a safe place for the person accused of murder. It must keep the one accused of murder safe from those who want to kill them. The court must send the accused person back to the city they ran to for safety. The accused person must stay there until the high priest dies. That priest has been anointed with holy oil.

And the congregation shall rescue the manslayer from the hand of the avenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to his city of refuge to which he had fled, and he shall live in it until the death of the high priest who was anointed with the holy oil.

The community must protect the slayer from the avenger and must escort the slayer back to live in the city of refuge to which he fled. There he must remain until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the sacred oil.

然後把膏油澆在他頭上、膏立他。

若是受膏的祭司犯了罪、以致人民有了罪責，那麼他就應當為了他所犯的罪將一隻牛、是完全沒有殘疾的小公牛、供獻與永恆主為解罪祭。

『在弟兄中做大祭司、頭上倒過膏油、身受過聖職以穿聖衣的、不可蓬頭散髮，也不可撕裂衣服。

所以弟兄們，我們既有坦然無懼的心，靠着耶穌的血而進入聖所，由他給我們開創的一條路、嶄新而活的路、通過幔子、就是通過他的肉身；我們又既有一位尊大的祭司治理上帝的家，我們就可以用真心、本着堅確的信心、進前去朝拜，心被血灑過、除去邪惡的意識，身體也用清水洗淨過。

都因上帝恩惠中白白的恩、憑着那在基督耶穌裏的贖放、得稱為義。這耶穌、上帝顯然立為除罪法，憑着人的信、本着耶穌的血、來做上帝救人之義的明證。因為上帝用他的寬容、對人先時所犯的罪過都不追究，好在現今的時期做他救人之義的明證，來顯明他自己為義，也是叫信耶穌的人得以稱義的。

他又把膏油倒在亞倫的頭上，膏立他，將他分別為聖。

也沒有藉着山羊和牛犢的血，乃藉着自己的血、儘一次地進去，就立得了永世的贖放。若山羊和公牛的血、跟母牛犢的灰、灑在被俗污沾染的人身上、尚且能使他們成聖別、以致肉身潔淨，何況基督的血呢？基督藉着永恆的靈、將自己無瑕無疵地獻與上帝，他、的血豈不更能潔淨我們的良知，除去屬死的行為，使我們能事奉永活的上帝麼？故此基督做了一個新的約的中保，蒙召的人就可以得到所應許的永世基業；因為已經有了受死的事、來贖赦前約之下犯法的罪了。

因此凡藉着他而進到上帝面前的人、他都能拯救到底；因為他總是活着、替他們請求。這樣的大祭司、虔聖、無邪、無染污、隔離罪人、高過諸天、正合乎我們所需要的。他無需乎像那些大祭司、每日先要替自己的罪、然後替人民的罪獻上祭物；因為他把自己獻上，就將這事儘一次作完了。律法是設立了許多人做大祭司、總是有弱點的人；但律法之後起誓的話卻是設立了一個兒子、是完全勝任到永遠的。

好把雙方、藉着十字架、在一個身體裏、跟上帝完全復和，因為他已經用十字架把那敵態消滅了。他來、是傳和平的福音給你們遠的人，傳和平給近的人；因為藉着他、我們雙方在一個靈裏、才享有進到父面前的恩。

因為殺人的應該住在逃罪城中、直到大祭司死了；大祭司死了以後，殺人的才可以回到他所得為產業的地。

那麼我們既有一位尊大的、經過了諸天的大祭司、上帝的兒子耶穌，我們就該執守這信認。因為我們的大祭司並不是一位不能同情於我們的種種軟弱的，乃是一位在各方面同樣受過試誘、卻沒有罪的。所以我們只管坦然無懼進到恩惠之寶座前，好領受憐憫，取得恩惠、做及時的援助。
