如今弟子啊，務要聽我，不可離棄我口中的訓言。

孩子們哪，現在你們當聽從我，不要偏離我口中的言語！

諸子宜聽、勿違我口所言、

爾小子、尚其聽之、毋棄我言。

眾子歟、務必聽我、勿棄我口所言、

孩子們啊，你們要聽從父親的教誨，留心學習，以便領悟，

不要讓它們離開你的視線，要牢記在心。

「孩子們啊，你們要聽從我，持守我道路的人有福了。要聽從教誨，不可輕忽，要做智者。人若聽從我、天天在我門口仰望、時時在我門邊等候，就有福了。因為找到我的，便找到了生命，他必蒙耶和華的恩惠。沒找到我就是害自己；憎恨我就是喜愛死亡。」

孩子們啊，你們要聽從我的話，留意我口中的訓言，

孩子啊，你要守護智慧和明辨力，別讓她們離開你的視線。

你要側耳聽智者之言，專心領受我的教誨，銘記在心、隨時誦詠，方為美事。今天我將這些指示你，為要使你倚靠耶和華。關於謀略和知識，我已寫給你三十條，要使你認識真理，能準確答覆差你來的人。

你們必須謹慎，切勿拒絕對你們說話的上帝。因為以色列人違背了在地上警戒他們的人，尚且逃脫不了懲罰，何況我們違背從天上警戒我們的上帝呢？
