Do not let my heart be drawn to what is evil so that I take part in wicked deeds along with those who are evildoers; do not let me eat their delicacies.

Don’t let my heart be drawn to what is evil. Don’t let me join with people who do evil. Don’t let me eat their fancy food.

Do not let my heart incline to any evil, to busy myself with wicked deeds in company with men who work iniquity, and let me not eat of their delicacies!

Don’t let me drift toward evil or take part in acts of wickedness. Don’t let me share in the delicacies of those who do wrong.

耶和華啊！你為何使我們偏離你的路，使我們硬著心不敬畏你呢？求你為了你的僕人，你的產業——以色列各支派而改變心意！

使我們的心歸向祂，遵行祂的旨意，謹守祂吩咐我們祖先的誡命、律例和典章。

又說：「所以，你們要從他們中間出來，離開他們，不要沾染污穢之物，我就接納你們。

你們不要上當受騙，「交壞朋友會敗壞好品德」。

求你使我的心愛慕你的法度而非不義之財。

所以，你們或吃或喝，無論做什麼，都要為上帝的榮耀而做。

我聽見天上又有一個聲音說：「我的子民啊，離開那城，以免沾染她的罪惡，受她所受的災禍。

但耶和華至今還沒有賜給你們能明白的心、能看見的眼、能聽清的耳。

不要讓我們遇見誘惑，救我們脫離那惡者。因為國度、權柄、榮耀都是你的，直到永遠。阿們！』

王安排他們每日享用一份御用的膳食和酒。他們要受教養三年，期滿後好在王身邊供職。被選的人中有猶大族的但以理、哈拿尼雅、米沙利、亞撒利雅。太監長給他們起了名字：稱但以理為伯提沙撒，哈拿尼雅為沙得拉，米沙利為米煞，亞撒利雅為亞伯尼歌。然而，但以理決心不用王的膳食和酒，以免玷污自己。他請求太監長准許他不玷污自己。

當人受到誘惑時，不可說：「是上帝在誘惑我。」因為上帝不受邪惡的誘惑，也不誘惑人。

耶和華問他用什麼方法，他說，『我要做謊言之靈，進入他眾先知的口中。』耶和華說，『你必能成功，就這樣做吧。』

希實本王西宏卻拒絕我們的請求，因為我們的上帝耶和華使他頑固不化，好讓我們擊敗他，正如今日的情形。

那些女子邀他們參加祭祀，他們吃了祭物，並跪拜她們的神明，

你若與官長同席，要注意面對的是誰。如果你是貪吃的人，就要節制食慾；不可貪戀他的美食，這美食是圈套。

然後有聲音對他說：「彼得，起來，宰了吃！」彼得卻說：「主啊！這可不行！我從未吃過任何污穢不潔之物。」

不要吃吝嗇人的飯，不可貪圖他的美味。因為他總是精於算計，嘴上說「請吃，請喝」，心裡卻另有盤算。你必嘔出所吃的那點飯，你說的美言都必枉費。

如果有非信徒邀請你們吃飯，你們又願意去，那麼，桌上擺的各樣食物，你們只管吃，不必為良心的緣故而詢問什麼。不過，如果有人告訴你這些是獻給偶像的祭物，你為了那告訴你的人和良心的緣故，就不要吃。
