When you ascended on high, you took many captives; you received gifts from people, even from the rebellious— that you, Lord God, might dwell there.

When he went up to his place on high, he took many prisoners. He received gifts from people, even from those who refused to obey him. The Lord God went up to live on Mount Zion.

You ascended on high, leading a host of captives in your train and receiving gifts among men, even among the rebellious, that the Lord God may dwell there.

You ascend on high, you have taken many captives. You receive tribute from men, including even sinful rebels. Indeed the LORD God lives there!

For it says: When he ascended on high, he took the captives captive; he gave gifts to people.But what does“ he ascended” mean except that he also descended to the lower parts of the earth?The one who descended is also the one who ascended far above all the heavens, to fill all things.

“ Awake! Awake, Deborah! Awake! Awake, sing a song! Arise, Barak, and take your prisoners, son of Abinoam!”

He abandoned the tabernacle at Shiloh, the tent where he resided among mankind.

Who may ascend the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place?

God ascends among shouts of joy, the LORD, with the sound of a ram’s horn.

He is also the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might come to have first place in everything.For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him,

Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth. It is for your benefit that I go away, because if I don’t go away the Counselor will not come to you. If I go, I will send him to you.

Jesus answered,“ If anyone loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.

Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be deceived: No sexually immoral people, idolaters, adulterers, or males who have sex with males,no thieves, greedy people, drunkards, verbally abusive people, or swindlers will inherit God’s kingdom.And some of you used to be like this. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

The perimeter of the city will be six miles, and the name of the city from that day on will be The LORD Is There.”

Ananias went and entered the house. He placed his hands on him and said,“ Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road you were traveling, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”

But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

And what agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God, as God said: I will dwell and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth. For he will not speak on his own, but he will speak whatever he hears. He will also declare to you what is to come.He will glorify me, because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.Everything the Father has is mine. This is why I told you that he takes from what is mine and will declare it to you.

Jesus has entered there on our behalf as a forerunner, because he has become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

In him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Though he was delivered up according to God’s determined plan and foreknowledge, you used lawless people to nail him to a cross and kill him.

And look, I am sending you what my Father promised. As for you, stay in the city until you are empowered from on high.”

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact expression of his nature, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

Lift up your heads, you gates! Rise up, ancient doors! Then the King of glory will come in.Who is this King of glory? Now the main point of what is being said is this: We have this kind of high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

and repentance for forgiveness of sins will be proclaimed in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

For the entire fullness of God’s nature dwells bodily in Christ,

But will God indeed live on earth with humans? Even heaven, the highest heaven, cannot contain you, much less this temple I have built.

Therefore, since he has been exalted to the right hand of God and has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit, he has poured out what you both see and hear.For it was not David who ascended into the heavens, but he himself says: The Lord declared to my Lord,‘ Sit at my right handuntil I make your enemies your footstool.’“ Therefore let all the house of Israel know with certainty that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”When they heard this, they were pierced to the heart and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles,“ Brothers, what should we do?”Peter replied,“ Repent and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.For the promise is for you and for your children, and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”With many other words he testified and strongly urged them, saying,“ Be saved from this corrupt generation!”So those who accepted his message were baptized, and that day about three thousand people were added to them.

Let the wicked one abandon his way and the sinful one his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, so he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will freely forgive.

For the LORD has chosen Zion; he has desired it for his home:“ This is my resting place forever; I will make my home here because I have desired it.

Go and learn what this means: I desire mercy and not sacrifice. For I didn’t come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

even though I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an arrogant man. But I received mercy because I acted out of ignorance in unbelief,and the grace of our Lord overflowed, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance:“ Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”— and I am the worst of them.

“ How long, inexperienced ones, will you love ignorance? How long will you mockers enjoy mocking and you fools hate knowledge?If you respond to my warning, then I will pour out my spirit on you and teach you my words.

So it is written, The first man Adam became a living being; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit.However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, then the spiritual.The first man was from the earth, a man of dust; the second man is from heaven.

Let the assembly of peoples gather around you; take your seat on high over it.

The mystery of the seven stars you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.“ Write to the angel of the church in Ephesus: Thus says the one who holds the seven stars in his right hand and who walks among the seven golden lampstands:

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever.He is the Spirit of truth. The world is unable to receive him because it doesn’t see him or know him. But you do know him, because he remains with you and will be in you.
