“ But if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.”

不但如此，「如果你的敵人餓了，就給他吃；如果他渴了，就給他喝；因為你這樣做，就是把炭火堆在他的頭上。」

敵飢則食之、渴則飲之、如是而行、猶以爇炭集厥首、

敵饑則飼之、渴則飲之、猶以爇炭集厥首、

爾敵饑則飼之、渴則飲之、爾如是行、猶以熱炭置於其首、

故曰：『敵人飢則食之、渴則飲之、是不啻以烈火加厥頂。』

On the contrary:“ If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”

Do just the opposite. Scripture says,“ If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. By doing those things, you will pile up burning coals on their heads.”( Proverbs 25:21, 22)

To the contrary,“ if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.”

Instead,“ If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads.”

But If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him something to drink. For in so doing you will be heaping fiery coals on his head.

Therefore“ If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”

But if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him to drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head.

Therefore“ If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.”

If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink;For you will heap burning coals on his head, And the Lord will reward you.

But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

“ But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,

“ If you encounter your enemy’s ox or his donkey wandering away, you must return it to him.If you see the donkey of one who hates you lying helpless under its load, you shall not leave it helpless for its owner; you must arrange the load with him.

But he answered,“ You shall not kill them. Would you kill those whom you have taken captive with your sword and your bow? Set bread and water before them, so that they may eat and drink, and go to their master.”

Put me like a seal over your heart, Like a seal on your arm. For love is as strong as death, Jealousy is as severe as Sheol; Its flames are flames of fire, The flame of the Lord.Many waters cannot quench love, Nor will rivers flood over it; If a man were to give all the riches of his house for love, It would be utterly despised.”

When David had finished speaking these words to Saul, Saul said,“ Is this your voice, my son David?” Then Saul raised his voice and wept.And he said to David,“ You are more righteous than I; for you have dealt well with me, while I have dealt maliciously with you.You have declared today that you have done good to me, that the Lord handed me over to you and yet you did not kill me.Though if a man finds his enemy, will he let him go away unharmed? May the Lord therefore reward you with good in return for what you have done to me this day.

Then Saul said,“ I have sinned. Return, my son David, for I will not harm you again since my life was precious in your sight this day. Behold, I have played the fool and have made a very great mistake.”

May burning coals fall upon them; May they be cast into the fire, Into bottomless pits from which they cannot rise.
