The king stood by his pillar and renewed the covenant in the presence of the Lord— to follow the Lord and keep his commands, statutes and decrees with all his heart and all his soul, and to obey the words of the covenant written in this book.

The king stood next to his pillar. He agreed to the terms of the covenant in front of the Lord. The king promised to serve the Lord and obey his commands, directions and rules. He promised to obey them with all his heart and with all his soul. So the king promised to obey the terms of the covenant that were written in that book.

耶何耶大让民众和王与他一起立约，要做耶和华的子民。

她看见王照例站在柱旁，百夫长和吹号的人侍立在王左右，众人都欢呼吹号，便撕裂衣服喊叫：“反了！反了！”

他们又与他们祖先的上帝耶和华立约，要全心全意地寻求祂。

现在我决心要与以色列的上帝耶和华立约，好使祂的烈怒转离我们。

他曾造一个长二点二五米，宽二点二五米，高一点三五米的铜台，放在院子中间。他站在台上，当着以色列会众的面跪下，向天伸出双手，

都跟随他们的贵族同胞起誓要谨遵上帝借祂仆人摩西颁布的律法，遵守我们的主耶和华的一切诫命、典章和律例。

他们必打听前往锡安的路，朝锡安走去。他们必凭不会被遗忘的永恒之约归附耶和华。

但如今，基督得到了一个更超越的职任，正如祂担任了更美之约的中保，这约是根据更美的应许所立的。因为如果第一个约没有缺点，就不必另立新约了。然而，上帝指责祂的百姓，说：“看啊，时候将到，我要与以色列家和犹大家另立新约，这约不同于我与他们祖先所立的约，就是我牵着他们祖先的手领他们离开埃及时所立的。因为他们不持守我的约，所以我不再理会他们。这是主说的。主又说，那些日子以后，我将与以色列家立这样的约，我要把我的律法放在他们脑中，写在他们心上。我要做他们的上帝，他们要做我的子民。谁都无需再教导自己的邻居和弟兄，说，‘你要认识主。’因为他们无论尊卑都必认识我。我要赦免他们的过犯，忘掉他们的罪恶。”上帝既然说要立新约，就是把以前的约当作旧的了，那渐渐过时、陈旧的东西很快就会消失。

“今天，你们全都站在你们的上帝耶和华面前，包括你们的族长、长老、官员、所有以色列男子、你们的孩子、妻子和寄居在你们中间为你们砍柴挑水的外族人，为要接受你们的上帝耶和华与你们立的誓约。这样，祂今天将宣告你们是祂的子民、祂是你们的上帝，正如祂对你们的应许和对你们祖先亚伯拉罕、以撒和雅各的誓言。耶和华的这誓约不仅是与你们立的，也是与今天一同站在我们的上帝耶和华面前的人，以及今天不在这里的人立的。

第七年，耶何耶大派人召迦利人和卫兵的百夫长们到耶和华的殿里，与他们立约，让他们在耶和华的殿里起誓，然后把约阿施王子带到他们面前。

犹大人都为所起的誓而欢喜快乐，因他们诚心起誓、诚意寻求耶和华，耶和华就让他们寻见，并赐他们四境平安。

我曾经起誓，我必信守诺言：我要遵行你公义的法令。

你们要全心、全意、全力爱你们的上帝耶和华。

你的法度永远是我的宝贵产业，是我喜乐的泉源。我决心遵行你的律例，一直到底。

在这些日子，君王要从东门穿过门廊通道进入内院，站在门框旁边。祭司要为他献燔祭和平安祭。他在入口的门槛那里敬拜，然后离去。这门要到晚上才关闭。

然后照上帝的仆人摩西的律法照常供职。祭司从利未人手中接过血，洒在坛上。

律法教师答道：“‘你要全心、全情、全力、全意爱主——你的上帝’，又要‘爱邻如己’。”耶稣说：“你答得对，照着去做就有永生了。”律法教师想证明自己有理，就问：“那么，谁是我的邻居呢？”

摩西把祭牲的血一半放在盆里，一半洒在坛上。他又把约书念给百姓听，百姓听了都说：“我们愿意遵行耶和华的一切吩咐，我们愿意顺服。”摩西便把盆中的血洒在百姓身上，说：“这是立约的血，是耶和华按所说的话与你们立约的凭据。”

无论是在上帝的殿中事奉，还是遵行律法和诫命，他都寻求他的上帝，尽心去做。因此，他行事顺利。

当天约书亚与民众立约，在示剑为他们订立律例和典章。

“鉴于这一切，我们郑重立约，记载下来。我们的首领、利未人和祭司都在上面盖了印。”

耶和华除了与以色列人在何烈山立约外，还在摩押吩咐摩西与以色列人立以下的约。
